Resolve to Improve the Vapor Community in 2015

Are you looking for a New Year’s resolution that will make a difference in the world of vapor? How about making a commitment to get involved in the e cigarette community in 2015? If you enjoy vaping, and we know that you do, then it is a great idea. You may be asking yourself how you can make a difference. There are hundreds of ways, you just need to find the one that works for you. We have some great ideas for you, and hope that this list helps.

  • new Year's Resolution calendarBe a political vaper- This one isn’t for everyone, but might be right up your alley. Electronic cigarette regulation is on the horizon and will only increase in 2015. We encourage you do your part to stand up for vapor in any way that you can. If your town is considering a vapor ban or tax, make your way to city council meetings and speak up. Arm yourself with facts about how vapor is a better alternative to smoking and don’t be afraid to share your own personal story as well. Organizations like CASAA exist to keep us informed about upcoming regulations and always provide action plans that lay out a road map and let you join with other vapers to fight for our rights.

  • Be a vapor educator- One of vapor’s biggest problems is misconception by the general public. They see articles about exploding batteries (very rare occurrences, normally due to user error), carcinogens in e liquids (not proven and certainly not applicable to all liquids) and more. You can make a difference in 2015 by simply educating those who do not know the truth. Again, arm yourself with facts from reputable studies and share your own personal story. Remember to be polite and keep in mind that not everyone will agree with you. Double up by being a responsible vaper. Do not vape inside if it is not openly allowed or blow huge clouds of vapor at other tables while sitting on a restaurant patio. It’s just rude and might just make you the one bad apple that ruined the bunch.

  • Buy a smoker an electronic cigarette- We all know a smoker who wants to quit. Show them the light, or the vapor as it may be. Pick up a quality starter kit and show them how it works. It doesn’t matter if it is a cig-a-like or an entry level personal vaporizer. Grab them a couple of flavor options, one should match up to the type of analogs that they smoke, and ask them to give it a try. Don’t be pushy, if they aren’t interested they aren’t interested. You never know, you might just change someone’s life.

  • Organize vapers locally- Are you the one that always plans the nights out and the events? Take it a step further and apply it to vapor. You can start Facebook Groups, engage other vapers in your area on Twitter or, better yet, plan actual meet-ups. Sometimes all that it takes is a little organization and things can blossom quickly. Many local vape shops would be open to hosting events. So would a good amount of bars and even some restaurants. Start with a few friends and get the word out. Before long you could have a good sized group put together. In numbers, we are strong.

We hope that these ideas help. Anything that you can do to improve the vapor community is a plus. If you are already involved, we would love to hear about what you are doing. Let us know what you are up to in the comments. Your hard work could be the inspiration that another vaper needs. On behalf of our entire team, we would like to wish you a safe, happy and vapor-filled 2015.
